“Always Think Abundantly” / Acrylic, charcoal
/ 48" x 48"
Influenced by African masks and their function. This piece attempts to create replicate the vibrance and dynamics of those ancient artefacts. The main image is a combination of emotions and energies. The expressions are in response to the environment it and we find ourselves. Amidst a bit of chaos, uncertainty and crude statements the mask represents the endless possibilities behind it.
$4000
“Plata o Pomo” / Acrylic, oil stick / 28" x 24"
Plata o Pomo is money or life. What’s existence worth to you and where do we place value within it. Are we really willing to die for those things in which we believe, or are we faking it until faced with the choice. The work is political, hopeless, and left in between two options that are not.
$2800
"Self Portrait " / collab with Joshua Vanleader / Acrylic on canvas / 30" x 40"
This piece was created as a representation. A reminder of self as well as the struggle for internal clarity and structure. While attempting to maintain identity, the emptiness of the image, color and tone reflect the emotions and uncertainty within the subject. The range of feeling can be seen through the overlapping and minimalistic yet abstract approach.
$3250
“Hold Up” / Acrylic on canvas / 40” x 30”
A bold look at the ideation and perception of those in protest and resistance. The mask represents protection as well as misdirection as it attempts to cover quotes and ideology from fallen writers, activists and theorists of their time. Justice and the rights of men and women feel like commodities to be stolen or taken by force. All while protecting the very identity you look to enhance and empower.
$3250
“Muted” / Acrylic on canvas / 60" x 44"
Not being heard is a shared terror. It's this inability to communicate that has plagued culture and mankind since our creation. Expression without those to understand or even empathize is painful. The colors many equate to this are “red” and “blue”. The sound that best describes those being victimized is silence. This painting attempts to speak to that silence.
$7000
“Untitled Face Purple” / Oil Stick / 12" x 9" / PRINT AVAILABLE
This is what it looks like on the inside. When dealing with different views, emotions, attractions and distractions, we can feel pulled in many directions. The image is tense and anxious which is the product of being unclear or out of control.
$750
